Systems Engineer Elasticsearch

At Evotec’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the Global IT team is searching for a highly motivated and dedicated

Systems Engineer Elasticsearch (all genders)

Full time and permanent

Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration and operation of Elasticsearch solutions
• Conception and integration of the search solution, connection of data sources, implementation of middleware components as well as configuration and optimization of the search technology used
• Understanding and contributing to surrounding layers such as replication and search
• Optimizing internal data structures used within Elasticsearch
• Solving difficult issues, including performance or concurrency issues, and proposing solutions
• Collaborating in the open with the ES team, Elastic users and SIEM Team
• Supporting our support engineers with the harder problems
• Advising the departments on monitoring and log management usage
• Operate and optimize the central monitoring and logging with modern technologies and approaches

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification
• Sound professional working experience in a similar position
• In-depth knowledge with Elastic Stack
• Experience with Kafka
• Experience with Linux and Windows
• Ideally experience in the areas of:
  • Monitoring with checkmk
  • Veeam Backup
  • SIEM Connection
  • Java and python development
  • crafting APIs
• Professional Language skills in English, preferably German
