About this role

Team Overview:

The Brazil Business Operations team based in Sao Paulo, is responsible to define, implement and conduct the local operation model under a scalable, efficient and risk-controlled environment, providing best in class market practices to support the regional business growth. The local operations team partners across all BlackRock Global Business Operations teams to ensure that all processes are properly managed, providing local contact points to escalate or discuss with clients, regulators and/or service providers.

Externally, the Team provides local expertise for product development throughout the structuring, maintenance and oversight for the local funds, especially ETFs, mutual funds and Brazilian Depositary Receipts (BDRs). This allows to provide clients the “best of Blackrock” by ensuring access to optimal investment solutions and seamless operational processes. In addition, the team drives consistent model and engagement with key Service Providers.

Internally, the team is dedicated to enhancing partnerships with Sales teams, providing a vital "operational seat-at-the-table" in efforts to build new client relationships and exploring solutions and products that accommodate their individual, custom needs. The team also works with close partnership with the Portfolio Management team and provides all the support in connection with the Securities Lending activity.

Key Responsibilities:

The potential candidate should have the capacity to:

  • Partner with Global Business Operations and Product Development teams to provide local expertise and operating model development supporting new products like ETF, Alternatives, Ad Hoc Models, SMA and distribution agreements.
  • Identify and drive an "operational seat-at-the-table" role in creating customized client solutions and products that are aligned with the firm's global operational model. This includes partnering with internal/external stakeholders and external clients alike to navigate local market and regulatory nuisances.
  • Provide superior client service to Brazilian clients in BlackRock, applying operational expertise to serve as the first line of contact for resolving client inquiries, doing so in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide relationship management for all local vendors, Industry Associations and regulators, including the oversight of the administration activities for the local domiciled products as ETFs, mutual funds and BDRs.
  • Support all ongoing Distribution Agreement updates and new executions, coordinating with all internal and external stakeholders. Assist with client inquiries and work closely with the Client Services team to service Retail clients looking for opportunities to implement process enhancements.
  • Follow-up to the local regulatory agenda and analysis of impacts for the local business, clients and products.
  • Maintain a risk-controlled environment together with our key service providers, minimizing the operational events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Fluency in English, Spanish skills desirable
  • Experience with investment management, investment operations, investment accounting/reporting are preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to execute consistently and have strong attention to detail.
  • Robust data analysis and data visualization skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrates the ability to adapt to evolving product landscapes
  • Candidates should have a keen eye for opportunities to create efficiency, and a track record of executing these improvements.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and VBA are preferred. #EarlyCareers
