Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, the Head of Commercial Operations will work closely with our international commercial departments in all territories and provide all aspects of sales support and analysis. They will be responsible for assessing and rolling our best commercial practices across all territories and providing the means to report back commercial metrics to the CSO & EMT on a regular basis. They must ensure best practice and operational excellence across all sales functions, territories and brands

  • Responsibility for of all aspects of sales planning, reporting, forecasting, sales process optimisation and harmonisation of sales compensation planning;
  • Create and analyse sales KPI reports covering sales profitability, headcount efficiency, forecasts, trends, etc. to enable sales management identify opportunities for increased profitability and efficiency;
  • Develop and drive the sales forecasting process while maintaining a strong relationship with field management, to ensure timely, accurate and prompt sales forecasts;
  • Work with the CSO to establish sales goals to support business segment revenue goals while developing, aligning and implementing territory assignment and sales plans;
  • Develop, implement and own sales policies, procedures and best practices in order to increase effectiveness and productivity;
  • Communicate changes in policy, best practices or other sales related procedures to the sales teams;
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, and take ownership over, all data in the current CRM platforms that exist across the business;
  • Work closely with the CRM Manager to create effective processes to support consistent activity and reporting from CRM in all locations
  • Provide continuous training on Salesforce/general CRM best practice for all sales teams;
  • Design and manage sales process-flows in Salesforce for all sales teams;
  • Help to coordinate and design sales incentive plans for all territories and establish quotas that support the financial plans of the Group;
  • Participation in management decision-making processes concerning sales issues and procedures;
  • Develop an international sales operations and reporting process through existing commercial personnel to provide optimal support to Commify’s global sales team;
  • Complete ad hoc business analysis, as required;

Requirements

  • Strong focus and understanding of Sales activities in general - including but not limited to sales planning, reporting, forecasting, sales process optimisation and sales compensation planning;
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated analysis of complex sales data and derive coherent deliverables;
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems, especially SalesForce, including experience of all aspects of the sales cycle and workflow generation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience working with, supporting and leading a sales team, as well as the ability to present to executive management;
  • Proven experience within commercial finance / sales support in a complex business-to-business environment
  • Technical understanding of online marketing and ecommerce in general
  • Results driven and target focussed
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Excellent commercial acumen
