Are you analytical, focused, and motivated? Then the role of Mechanical Systems Engineer is perfect for you! As a Diagram Mechanical Engineer, you design existing and new piping systems on board ships. This is a great opportunity for you to start your career as a Mechanical Engineer.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Creating one-line piping diagrams for cooling water, fuel, bilge, and ballast systems, etc..
  • Performing necessary calculations such as pressure loss, NPSH, heat balance, and specifying fittings and instrumentation.
  • Calculating pipe diameter and thickness.
  • Tracking packages versions during the detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Processing individual installation instructions from component suppliers.
  • Specifying required components based on construction specifications and standard regulations.
  • Procuring valves, fittings, and instrumentation.

You will also draft technical specifications, receive and evaluate quotes, and collaborate with the Procurement Department and Lead Engineers Machinery & Piping to make decisions. Additionally, the Piping Engineer is responsible for inspections by classification societies and/or clients.

Your Profile:

To be eligible for this position, you should have the following:

  • A completed degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technician Engineering (another relevant technical study).
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with regulations from classification societies and international authorities
  • Awareness of technical developments in the field
  • The ability to initiate research and technical advancements
  • Experience with (Shipbuilding) engineering is a plus
  • Experience with Cadmatic and Teamcenter/IFS is a plus

Selection process:

After your application, there will first be a short phone call with the Corporate Recruiter. Subsequently, the selection procedure consists of two rounds of interviews. The first interview will be with the manager and a direct colleague. During the second interview, a manager from a different department and someone from HR will join. If everyone is enthusiastic, a phone call follows to discuss the terms of employment.

Engineering shipbuilding is a multidisciplinary group consisting of four key disciplines: Maritime, Mechanical, Electrical, and Mission Equipment. Together, we create comprehensive engineering packages for large custom ships.
