Senior Project Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for providing management direction and support to one or more projects, overseeing the work of subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards. This role also involves assisting with purchasing, estimating, and mentoring co-op students.

Requirements

• Education & Experience:
• BS degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of construction experience preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Basic construction knowledge with an eagerness to learn more.
• Familiarity with project plans, specifications, equipment, and instruments.
• Language Skills:
• Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with customers and employees.
• Mathematical Skills:
• Competency in basic math, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions and handle standardized problems.
• Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Experience with Primavera/Oracle scheduling, Sage Timberline, AutoCAD, and Viewpoint is a plus.

Duties

• Manage project documentation (RFIs, Submittals, Change Orders, etc.).
• Coordinate daily project activities and site planning.
• Assist with material procurement and onsite quality control checks.
• Implement safety plans onsite.
• Develop project budgets and process pay applications.
• Approve invoices and update project schedules.
• Run weekly labor reports, oversee project start-up and commissioning, and manage project closeout.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
