Road (Civil) Engineer

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Engineering Office of the Ignitis Renewables team, where you’ll be responsible for the design and management of road infrastructure projects. Your role will involve overseeing the planning and implementation of road networks to support our renewable energy initiatives. If that speaks to you, we’d be happy to welcome you to our team!

You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:

• Applying knowledge of road design principles, including road curvatures, slopes, cross-section design, and water drainage requirements
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and manufacturer requirements
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and contractors, to meet project goals and deadlines
• Conducting design calculations and reviewing road plans constructively to optimize designs for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Creating and reviewing technical specifications for road construction and providing guidance during the procurement process
• Inspecting road construction sites to ensure quality of work, compliance with specifications, providing recommendations for improvement as needed
• Defining existing roads condition and recommending maintenance solutions
• Managing activities of repair and maintenance of existing infrastructure and installation of new roads.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering
• 5 years of experience in road design (ideally 5 years or more); experience in renewables would be advantageous
• Strong Health and safety background and an understanding of safety regulations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• B category driving license
• Strong understanding of construction methods
• AutoCAD proficiency would be considered as an advantage.
