Job Description

As the Plant Financial Analyst Intern, you will help the plant controller with financial analysis, business partnership, and continuous improvement initiatives. The plant controller is the head of finance for a manufacturing facility whose primary function is to advise the business in decision making via analysis of financial and non-financial data. While in this role, on site at one of our manufacturing locations, you will work heavily in Excel and our ERP system (ERP experience is not required) to assist and learn analysis skills.

There is potential for this summer internship to extend into a part-time role during the school year, based on performance and need.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Financial Analysis

  • Assist in various aspects of the monthly/quarterly/yearly close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis)

  • Analyze plant metrics and KPIs (i.e. Sales, Production, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Standard Cost, and Government Reporting)

  • Assist with preparation and consolidation of plant monthly and quarterly reporting and presentations

Business Partnership

  • Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with plant leadership to provide insights on plant KPIs

Projects/Miscellaneous

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives or projects to determine new, improved and streamlined approaches to better serve customer & business needs

  • Additional assignments when appropriate
