Position: Sr. Cloud Engineer, Research IDS

Path/Level: R1

Note: Roles are posted at the lowest level of a band, however, employees should search across all levels of the band to identify all opportunities. Competency with Full Stack:
Should demonstrate proficiency across the entire software development lifecycle, from front-end to back-end technologies. Key competencies include expertise in developing responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks, such as React, as well as hands-on experience with server-side technologies, including Node.js. The candidate should showcase a strong understanding of database management systems, RESTful API design, and deployment processes. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, adapt to emerging technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software solutions is essential.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Own and contribute with applications involving Full Stack technologies, with a prerequisite for proficiency in Node.js and React.js.
  • Assist in bridging skillsets and facilitate knowledge sharing across the development team, fostering a cross-functional environment where every team member can effectively contribute
  • Possess experience in working with SQL or PL/SQL or Oracle databases.
  • Using problem-solving skills, you will strive to quickly identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs for optimal user experience.
  • Maintain existing applications via debugging and continuous updates, ensuring code quality, organization, and automation
  • Perform code reviews and participate in pair programming sessions
  • Work in a modern Agile environment to deliver customer value with regular cadence

Basic Requirements & Experience Expectations:

  • 5-8 years of experience in industry performing software development.
  • 4-year (bachelors) degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar field
  • Expertise with at least one Object Oriented JavaScript Framework (React, Angular, Ember, Dojo, Node etc.)
  • Proficiency with Object Oriented Programming, multi-threading, data serialization and REST API to connect applications to back-end services.
  • Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes (k8s), Jenkins, and GitHub Actions is essential for this role.
  • Proven cloud development experience AWS
  • Understanding of IT life cycle methodology & processes.
  • Experience in understanding and Leading Enterprise Platform /Solutions
  • Experience working with Microservices/Service Oriented Architecture Frameworks
  • Good Understanding on Middleware technologies
  • Possess expertise in at least one unit testing framework

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience working on applications supporting biology and/or chemistry laboratories and/or familiarity with scientific assay data
  • Experience working with teams across organizational and geographic boundaries and multiple levels within the organization
  • Strong teamwork, self-management, problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in multiple common tech languages
