This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

What you’ll do

  • Provide technical guidance, process leadership, and oversight to ensure engineering teams are successful in product delivery.
  • Drive the service ownership charter for the organization by defining, operating, and improving upon the processes/tools aimed at enhancing the operational focus of the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of product/ program and roadmap. Lead process improvements and manage dependencies.
  • Develop and manage program plans, timelines, and resources.
  • Ensure high levels of connectedness between engineering, product, and other teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks and issues.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners.
  • Define, manage, and accomplish the quality goals of the organization through testing, validation, and certifications.
  • Ensure cloud products meet compliance, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously improve program processes, tools, and methodologies, and help sustain and continually look for opportunities to improve the organization’s culture.
  • Develop and mentor team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Apply expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving the most complex business/technical issues within established policies.
  • Act as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization.
  • Be an advocate for customers and product quality within the organization.
  • Facilitate technical deep dives and cross-training to support teams.

On the technical side, the ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Prior experience developing and operating a cloud-based software as a service offering.
  • Ability to break a complex problem down into simple to understand parts.
  • Ability and desire to learn new technical skills quickly.
  • Experience with one or more of the hyper scalers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Strong experience with planning and productivity tooling such as Jira, Aha, Confluence, etc.
  • Prior work experience in working with engineering teams supporting development, deployment, testing, and support functions of Cloud-native microservices.
  • Experience with scalable, enterprise grade aaS API platforms.

Management Requirements:

  • Business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more engineering, technology, and product domains.
  • Demonstrated abilities to drive transformation across a business with solid skills in the management of change.
  • Strong facilitation skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with senior management and executive roles for internal and external partners.

What you need to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Previous work experience as technical program manager systems level development preferred.
  • Typically, 10 or more years of related work experience, including 5 or more years of people management experience.
  • Track record of successful product delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and organizations.
