Job Responsibilities:

Tech Pub lead’s main responsibility includes not only all items of Tech pub engineer who is:

using a variety of tools to create technical publications

setting up online projects, editing images, capturing screenshots and publish the relative documentation per client instructions

implementing client feedback, performing quality assurance checks and sign off the products

demonstrating proficiency in learning new tools independently and writing concise guides.

But also team management responsibilities:

leading team to ensure quality & timely delivery of all products

working as technical POC to communicate with stakeholder

supervising the Tech pub team and overseeing all tech pub relative activities

monitoring tech pub procedures and workflow and making sure that they are all up-to-date and aiming for continual improvement.

MAIN DUTIES

The major areas of focus for this role are as follows:

Accomplishing below tasks independently according to client's requirements and deliveries qualified finished products to client:

Specific requirements.

• Using ENG tools (EmEditor, Word, BeyondCompare, Indesign etc.) to accomplish TechPub job.

• Using image tools (SnagIt, PhotoShop etc.) to edit images.

• Using screen capture tools (SnagIT etc.) to capture screenshots according to client's instruction.

• Using QA tools to perform checking work.

• Using other relative tools to undertake the TechPub work according to clients'

• Implementing the feedback to meet client's requirements.

• Skill in learning and using tools provided by client independently.

• Summarizing and writing guides.

• Learning/researching new tools/methods or developing macros to improve productivity and efficiency.

• Contributing ideas to improve current procedures and workflow.

• to Prepare the production environment by ensuring all files, memories and work instructions are available in the correct format and by setting up necessary hardware and software

• Prepare translation materials by converting the files for translation and restore original files after translation

• Extract strings for translation from materials such as Graphics and embed translated strings back to the materials

• Participate in the improvement of the Engineering process

• Communicate with the Team Lead for status reports and issues in team. Reporting should be accurate, should be proactive, and on a timely basis

REQUIREMENTS

Education Level

• Bachelor’s degree with engineering background/ Engineering Diploma

Experience

• Knowledge of installation and configuration management for the most common operating systems and platforms.

• Knowledge on encoding and fonts.

Skills in below tools

• ENG tools (EmEditor, Word, BeyondCompare etc.)

• Image tools (PhotoShop, Illustrator etc.)

• Screen capture tools (SnagIT etc.)

• Github tools (Github Desktop)

• HTML Help Workshop

• Aegisub

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead diverse, virtual teams.

• People management experience is a plus
