Job Responsibilities:

The AIS Language Engineer is a responsible party for understanding client AI enablement program requirements, negotiating deliverable quality acceptance criteria and methodologies, restating client expectations and supplementing these with creatively generated production guidelines that will be used in production, analysing program requirements and recommending specific NLP and work surface developments/implementations to support novel production processes and emerging client requirements.

  • Scoping of data generation projects from a technical and linguistic standpoint, especially with regards to language technologies and audio data.
  • Development of automations and integrations for the internal annotation software.
  • Data management and wrangling from project start to project delivery.
  • Quality assurance for linguistic data.
  • Strategize with the NLP and other engineering teams on fit-for-purpose work surfaces for all programs, with an eye to developing modularized and flexibly platforms that can be repurposed for new client engagements.
  • Strategize with NLP Team, make recommendations, and contribute to technical specifications on embedding NLP technologies such as Python scripts and/or other machine learning algorithms into the workflow (e.g. use of concordances, rules for capitalization, fillers, acronyms, and initialisms)
  • Provide product management oversight for tools used in AI enablement workflows.
  • Oversee creation of internal project specifications, workflow instructions and training content (to be handed-off to training implementation team).
  • Participate as necessary in training and orientation sessions for internal staff and contractors.
  • Design and implement quality evaluation and data spec compliance protocols and tools.
  • Oversee deliverable quality for client programs and propose enhancements to training and tooling to improve quality of outputs
  • Design and participate in implementation of tests designed to support the talent recruitment and pre-qualification process (including working with Senior Linguists to adapt test for any target language or locale)
  • Translate client specifications into data generation placeholders (databases, worksurfaces, utterance containers, etc.) to ensure that deliverable output complies with client requirements
  • Provide defect management based on client feedback, looking for recurrent issues, defining the root cause (in collaboration with AIS Production Manager) and developing remediation strategies
  • Monitor and follow up on AI Services production progress – ensuring staff comply with the instructions and guidelines
  • Defect management in terms of bug scrub/disposition defects. Look for recurrent issues, link them - notice patterns (avoid duplicates, find unreported bugs).

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Master’s preferred

Experience:

1-2 Years' Experience
