Position Overview

The Business Process Analyst will be responsible for designing and optimizing business processes and partner with IT to design systems. The Business Process Analyst acts as a liaison between business teams and works with technology teams. This person will support process design, improvement projects, as well as product launches through all phases of the project lifecycle. The Business Analyst provides first level day to day support to users and subject matter experts. The role will focus on evaluating, prioritizing, and managing changes to the system using appropriate change management processes, as well as develops and provides training. This role will research gaps in functionality, gather requirements of users and present recommendations to both technical and business teams. This individual will understand the business processes and system capabilities to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the business functions and other departments.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with key business owners to analyze existing business processes and systems to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify problems, design challenges and conceptualize solutions to meet Business Partner needs.
  • Design, develop and maintain systems, platform configurations and technologies to meet Business Partner needs.
  • Provide production assistance and lead efforts to analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance business systems through system improvements, including design, testing, validation, training, and post-launch support.
  • Develop detailed plans, gather and document business, technical, and functional requirements, and translate them into system design solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility and pilot tests to determine the adequacy of proposed solutions, developing detailed documentation (e.g., gap analyses, business process flow charts, decision tables, features, business requirements documents, etc.) to aid in the development and refinement of new tools and processes.
  • Develop user test plans and work with core team members to validate user acceptance testing against documented business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Functional Design Documents and Configuration Documentation that outlines system scheme
  • Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
  • Quantify projected return on investment, including quality and efficiency gains to assist in prioritization of projects.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the data, processes, and systems utilized by the business area and ability to document complex business processes.
  • Provide input and support during the implementation phase, including carrying out software user testing, composing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and/or conducting employee training.
  • Serve as frontline support in troubleshooting process and systems issues and provide ongoing operational support, as required.
  • Understand backlog of projects and features. Collaborate with business partners and Platform Manager to identify release candidates and roadmaps.
  • Act as project manager or support project leadership as needed, collaborating with IT and business teams to develop timelines, implement system design solutions, drive process changes, and optimize resource use across multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Work with minimal guidance to deliver low to medium complexity projects.
  • Utilize outstanding written and verbal communication skills to build strong relationships and effectively understand and address both short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Deliver well-organized, informative presentations, and requirement documents.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Science, Engineering, or related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience to the essential duties of the job in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of experience implementing and enhancing technology systems to meet business strategies.
  • 1+ years of experience working alongside business units in developing multiyear process and technology roadmaps.
  • 1+ years of experience involving business analysis, process development, or project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial or customer experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile or other quality management systems.
  • 1+ years of experience at a company with Computer Systems Validation processes in place or
    equivalent best practices and of change control as it relates to application systems.
  • Coupa certifications.
  • Ability to work in BPMN 2.0 Business Process Modeling.
  • CPSM or professional procurement certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certifications.
  • Project Management Professional certification or other project Management credentials.
  • Experience with contract management systems.
  • Experience with a contingent labor system.
  • Experience with a supplier management system.
  • Experience with eProcurement tools (catalog and punchouts).
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization platforms. #LI-VZ1

Salary Range:

$67,000.00 - $109,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
