The Position

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our platform's reliability, scalability, and performance. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to automate processes, optimize workflows, and maintain a robust infrastructure that supports our cutting-edge technology.

In this role, you'll

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Big data infrastructure like Iceberg/hadoop.
• Automate the provisioning, deployment, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and services.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address potential issues.
• Manage cloud services, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring high availability and security.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices across all environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and tools within the DevOps team.
• Maintain and update documentation related to infrastructure and processes.
• Proven ability to bring a larger company mindset to smaller startups, empowering developers through self-service automation, reducing cloud footprints, and improving security.
• Expertise in designing, testing, and implementing infrastructure for SaaS environments, with a focus on automation and efficiency improvements.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in a SaaS environment.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Background in working with large media companies on DevOps tasks, including migrations to AWS, CI/CD pipeline scripting, and extensive use of Docker, PostgreSQL, Bash, Git, and Jira..
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience in managing Big data infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the travel tech industry or with airline systems.
• Familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Understanding of machine learning and data analytics workflows.

$118,000 - $185,000 a year

Longtail Technologies is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in Palo Alto, California, the estimated base salary range for this role is $118,000 - $185,000 per year.
