This position is critical in data delivery, interpretation, and information visualization to support business decisions and improve healthcare for our customers. Information delivery is provided on demand, through dashboards and other reports. The successful candidate has both mature data analysis and programming skills. The position requires:

  • Understanding the relationships of data from different sources and the ability to convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborating with and mentoring team members to collect, analyze, and process data to actionable information
  • Creating scripts and SQL code that can be easily manipulated and updated to extract data and perform analytics
  • Supporting the data warehouse in identifying, capturing, and developing reporting requirements and ensuring requirements are met and business rules are applied consistently
  • Ensuring the integrity and quality of data and information delivered to stakeholders by applying Total Quality Management techniques
  • Providing accurate reporting while dealing with large datasets with attention to detail and quality
  • Creating visualizations, presentations, dashboards, reports, and tabulations for internal and external clients from complex data relations
  • Identifying and implementing data transformation and cleansing rules to automate data flows and data processing
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize information efficiency, integrity and quality
  • Identifying, researching, analyzing, documenting, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to data quality, data integrity, metadata, and normalization
  • Acting as a data steward and maintaining the analytical foundation through business rules and design of data marts to ensure integrity and reliability of analytics
  • Working with stakeholders to understand, clarify, document, and implement requirements

Requirements

Successful candidates have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience
  • Current Public Trust clearance, or ability to obtain a clearance
  • 7 or more years of directly applicable experience with data analysis, data stewardship, SQL, requirements development, and information delivery
  • Strong SQL skills, including T-SQL, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Experience creating process and data flow diagrams and prototypes
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools and information visualization
  • Knowledge of software development in an Agile environment
  • Understanding of logical and physical data modeling, data governance, data lineage, and metadata management
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, and analytic capabilities
  • Process and detail-oriented in coding and data analytics

Preferred experience includes:

  • Current or previous experience in a health-related environment
  • Collecting and interpreting datasets to answer questions or solve problems
  • Proactively following up on tasks and action items
  • Managing issues, removing impediments, and escalating, as necessary
