Surgify Medical is a Finnish health technology company with the goal of making bone surgery safer.

Surgify’s bone cutting technology was originally developed in collaboration between Aalto University and Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) Department of Neurosurgery. In many fields of surgery and dentistry, bone must be cut or removed without damaging the nearby soft structures. Bleeding, infections and nerve injuries are some of the complications that can severely affect a patients’ quality of life.

Surgify’s product is a new type of cutting device with a patented safety mechanism that pushes soft tissue away and prevents the drill from damaging vital structures such as nerves or blood vessels. Surgify technology improves the safety, speed, and precision of bone surgery to minimize these risks.

The company is commercializing its next-generation surgical bone cutting technology in Finland and internationally. Surgify Medical is now looking to hire a Product Specialist to build and strengthen their sales in Denmark. The role requires extensive traveling both in Denmark and abroad.

Surgify is looking to strengthen their commercial team through this recruitment.

The organization structure is flat with minimal hierarchy. As a growth company the processes and ways of working are flexible, so the person who joins the company must have willingness to think outside of her/ his job description to get things done.

Key Stakeholders

Internal: Manager, CCO

Closest collaborator: Product Specialist Finland & KAM Sweden

External: University hospitals and clinics: key opinion leaders, physicians, nurses, technicians, materials management, etc.

Key Responsibilities

The Product Specialist/KAM will work in close collaboration with the Sales and Marketing team in establishing and growing revenue in Denmark. Surgify is looking to get a strong foothold in Denmark, which means hard sales and sales support work. Commercial success is needed for the company to grow.

Main Challenges

The Product Specialist/KAM will be working with a new, innovative product, which means creating awareness and need among clients to gain commercial success.

Sales efforts will require effort, stamina and determination to gain commercial success.

Surgify is an agile and responsive company. People are expected to be flexible, and determined to bring order and create processes, when needed.

Expected results, short-term and long-term

Sales results: KOL contracts, repeat use of commercially invoiced products in Denmark.

Work experience, competences, and achievements expected in this role

  • 2+ years of medical device sales experience
  • Experience in working in the OR
  • Spine, neurological, or orthopedic experience will be considered as an asset
  • Willingness to travel
  • Personality and behavior that are needed to succeed in this role

The Product Specialist is expected to be/ have:

  • self-starter, independent and goal-oriented
  • systematic sales approach, can create order and establish sales processes
  • strong drive and sales motivation, i.e., competitive, desire to influence others’ opinions, strive for excellence, willingness to work hard for results.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (business, marketing, sales, nursing, pharmacist or similar field) is preferred.

Language Skills

Fluent English (company language) and Danish (for client work) is a requirement, Swedish skills will be an advantage.
