oin our dynamic team at the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) and play a pivotal role in supporting the development of infrastructure capital improvement projects across our nine colleges and two satellite locations. As an Infrastructure Project Coordinator, you will work closely with the infrastructure team to plan, coordinate, and report on construction projects focusing on essential infrastructure components such as Hydronic Lines, Electrical Distribution, Site Lighting, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of the utility master plan and ensure the accuracy of installations for new and existing projects.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the performance of construction projects, reporting progress to the infrastructure team.
  • Identify project risks and collaborate on creating effective risk mitigation plans.
  • Present project and college data clearly to multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Provide technical and engineering support to the Program Management Office (PMO), including Project Managers and Construction Managers.
  • Coordinate with surveying, testing, and inspection staff to ensure project compliance and quality control.
  • Document construction progress, including photographs, daily project reports, and notes.
  • Assist in preparing written materials such as correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate and record meeting minutes with project stakeholders.
  • Review submittal procedures, Requests for Information (RFIs), and monthly invoices.
  • Conduct job site visits to various college campuses as needed.
  • Perform other project support duties as directed.

Requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of recent professional work experience in the management of the construction of infrastructure projects.
  • Experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant public codes.
  • BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction Management, Urban Planning or related degree. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design process.
