Design Director

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000 US annual.

We're looking for a Design Director experienced in static and motion graphics, with a knack for creating compelling content for always-on social media channels for one of the world's most well-known brands. You'll be hands-on yourself but also lead a team of multi-discipline designers across our global offices.

This role is ideal for someone who succeeds in collaborative environments, and has an excellent track record leading several designers to excel in their work. Someone with the ability to bring organization and inspiration across the team.

Your creative vision and technical expertise will help shape the aesthetic of on-trend content spanning all social media platforms - and beyond.

Working with VPs of Creative and reporting to the Global ECD and Global Chief Solutions Officer, this role is perfect for a creative design lead who knows social media inside out, able to tailor assets across social media platforms.

You'll lead the charge in bringing visual excellence and design flair across a range of projects, static and motion. You're well-versed across social and both static and motion design, across all deliverables from stand-out templates, to more visually conceptual design explorations, you can support and guide designers as they manage varied and simultaneous work streams. You are someone who leads by example, bringing ideas to life - working with creative social teams.

You're someone who naturally stays up to date on the latest trends in design and content creation. You are a communicator who is as comfortable sharing ideas and receiving feedback, aiming to lead a team - and to personally - produce the best work that resonates with diverse audiences.

You are:

• Experienced with both static and motion design with the desire to keep evolving.
• Used to working on some of the biggest, most creative global brands.
• Used to the agency world - and used to working with VPs of Creative and Global ECD to meet a high creative bar, creating digital / social assets for global clients
• Well versed in following a clear brief from the creative team and ensuring your team of designers do the same.
• Can demonstrate the ability to not only answer the brief but push the brief.
• Experienced in leading teams and support individual designers to create a range of design solutions - all on brief.
• Passionate about design, art, and culture. With a keen eye for design, brands and tech trends.
• An overall team player who understands the busy nature of working within an agency.
• Great at presenting and conveying your design ideas to for your team, VP of Creative and clients.
• Open to take feedback and evolve design solutions to ensure progress and revise work promptly.
• Well versed in editing existing visual assets.

As part of this role you will:

• Organize and inspire the design community across different time zones, globally.
• Check in with designers and built a successful design community - supporting and inspiring all designers to deliver their best work.
• Attend regular reviews with your project team (VP, Creative and above) on briefs you are working on to ensure the work is top level.
• Lead weekly huddles within the design community, including monthly motion meet-ups.
• Attend monthly meetings with the Creative and Experience Network.

Requirements

• 7+ years professional experience in a relevant role/industry
• Expertise in Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator with a deep understanding of graphic design, layout, and typography.
• Excellent motion design skills - with the hunger to develop further.
• Extensive experience creating content for social, static and motion.
