The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rigorous finite element electromagnetic modelling of novel nanophotonic and plasmonically structured substrates and metasurfaces.
- Optimisation of nanostructures for enhanced light matter interactions, beam shaping and spectral response.
- Design, simulate and analyse metalenses and microlens arrays for point-spread function engineering and imaging and sensing applications.
- Model imaging properties of advanced optical microscopy systems leveraging structured substrates.
- Perform literature reviews and stay up to date on developments in the field.
- Disseminate results through publication in top-tier journals and conference presentations.
- Contribute to research administration and assist in grant writing as required.
- Supervise PhD and undergraduate student projects as required.
Job Requirements:
- PhD Degree in Physics/Mathematics/Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Active and strong theoretical knowledge of nanoplasmonics, electromagnetic modelling, optical imaging systems, microresonators and light matter interactions.
- Strong experience in finite element modelling: COMSOL (preferred) or OneLab
- Programming Experience: Proficient knowledge of Python and/or MATLAB.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Able to work well in a team and individually.
- Good research track record. Prior high tier publications is preferred.
- Min. 1-year research experience in related area.
- Proficiency in English
