Design Coordinator

As part of our continuous growth, we are looking for an experienced Design Coordinator to help us build more iconic projects of tomorrow.

Your minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of construction projects should make you manage and integrate various aspects of the design process, ensuring demands are met with precision and excellence. You will be responsible for overseeing technical studies, fostering collaboration among diverse teams, and driving the project from conception through to execution.

Your Tasks

• Project Oversight: Manage the overall design process for large-scale construction and civil projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
• Technical Expertise: Utilise your comprehensive knowledge of construction design across various disciplines (architectural, mechanical, etc.) to meet project specifications.
• Study Coordination: Direct and coordinate necessary studies (stability, geotechnical, special techniques, BIM), determining whether they should be conducted internally or outsourced.
• Client Interaction: Lead design meetings with clients to understand and integrate their specific demands, ensuring their vision is effectively translated into the project design.
• Internal Collaboration: Facilitate internal design meetings, driving collaboration among different teams to produce cohesive and winning designs.
• Single Point of Contact (SPOC): Serve as the primary liaison for compiling information from various disciplines (Estimating, BED, Methods & Planning) during the tender process.
• Execution Support: Address and coordinate responses to ad hoc queries from execution sites, such as temporary structures.
• Project Follow-Up: Monitor the project closely once initiated, with a particular focus on its constructability.
• Technology Awareness: Stay abreast of the latest technologies (drones, BIM, document management, etc.) to continually enhance project outcomes.

Your Qualities

• Educational Background: Hold a Master’s degree in architecture or construction.

• Experience: Possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design of construction projects.

• Technical and Organisational Insight: Demonstrate a strong understanding of both technical and organisational aspects of construction projects.

• Leadership Skills: Exhibit enthusiasm and capability in managing and motivating a multidisciplinary team.

• Communication Skills: Be an exceptional communicator, able to persuade and convince stakeholders of your ideas.

• Problem-Solving Attitude: Approach challenges with a result-oriented and solutions-focused mindset.

• Pressure Performance: Thrive under pressure and excel in meeting deadlines.

• Decision-Making: Capably evaluate various ideas and make swift, effective decisions.

Languages

• Dutch: Fluency required.
• English: Good proficiency needed.
