HyperionDev is one of the largest providers of accelerated tech education in EMEA and one of the oldest providers of 'coding bootcamps' in the world
HyperionDev is one of the largest providers of accelerated tech education in EMEA and one of the oldest providers of 'coding bootcamps' in the world. We work with top universities such as Imperial College London, The London School of Economics, The University of Edinburgh, and Stellenbosch University to deliver structured technical courses and bootcamps that accelerate people into fulfilling tech careers. We have been recognised as one of the top education technology scaleups in the world and gained the financial backing of Meta (previously Facebook) which recognised us as the most socially impactful startup operating in Africa, where we initially started our work.
We are dedicated to closing the global tech skills gap and we achieve this by integrating tech education with human mentorship and expert code review powered by a workforce in Southern Africa, which lowers the cost of an accessible education in technology. This model has been successful, allowing us to reach millions of learners a year from over 60 countries. We have also partnered with government bodies such as the UK's Department for Education who provide scholarships for students to study on our bootcamps and gain employment at companies such as AstraZeneca and the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS).
We're backed by nearly 2000 investors, having raised the largest crowdfunding round of funding for an edtech company in history. As a primarily bootstrapped, profitable, and scale up tech business join us as we play our part in making the world a more stable, safer, and fair place.
As the Head of Talent at HyperionDev, you will own and guide our Talent Acquisition and Management Strategy, as well as lead on improving our overall Employee Value Proposition and Recruitment Brand.
You will drive talent acquisition both strategically and operationally, understanding our company culture and individual roles to recruit A-players and devising creative, non-traditional methods to attract talent. You will ensure that we’re able to source & hire A-players into our team consistently at pace as we scale our team.
You will refresh and manage our talent acquisition strategy in terms of making it more proactive, which includes collaborating closely with hiring managers and PeopleOps to identify medium/long-term hiring needs, designing proactive sourcing strategies, building and engaging a talent community to bring down the overall time to hire, making meaningful additions to our EVP, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
A key responsibility will be to lead and focus on our EVP and Recruitment Brand by developing and implementing effective and data driven recruitment marketing strategies and initiatives to attract and engage top talent. You will focus on promoting our employer brand, enhancing the company's reputation as an employer of choice, and driving qualified candidates to the recruitment process by collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to execute recruitment marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
You will also build further and manage our in-house Talent team, and liaise with talent partners or recruiters when needed. You will own the responsibility of tracking and reporting on hiring metrics to senior management, and use that to inform further improvements to our hiring process.
To succeed in this role, you should be able to think about talent acquisition and people management in a strategic & proactive manner, possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, and be experienced in hiring, retaining and developing exceptional talent.
This role would be required to be in the office and attend events on a regular basis so candidates would need to be based in the London area.
Due to the seniority of this role, work outside of standard hours and times may be required.

Life-changing work: Solve real problems that make education and tech careers accessible to those who need it most: you're allowed to brag about it.
