Engineering Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a software engineering manager, passionate about open source software, Linux, and cloud computing. The position leads one of our regional teams and is one of several managers, who report directly to the global Director of Sustaining Engineering. As an engineering manager in the Sustaining Engineering team, your primary responsibility is to support the growth and valuable contributions of your team members. Technical leadership and a solid background in software development is a must. This is a full-time, remote position open to applicants in the Americas time zones, offering a competitive base pay and additional benefits reflective of the company's values and ideals.

• Deep experience with Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, Postgresql, and deb or snap packaging
• Professional software delivery experience using C, C++, Go, Python, or similar
• Leadership experience organizing and prioritizing complex problem resolution and bug fixes
• Experience with version control systems such as git, debugging tools such as gdb, and testing methodologies
• Excellent communication skills in the English language, both verbal and written
• Knowledge and passion for software development, open source, and open source business models
• People management experience in a support organization is a strong plus
