A Cambridge associate school is looking for dedicated, experienced and qualified teachers for its lower primary department. This school provides a student focused approach to teaching, underlying with a caring ethos and a belief that being a class teacher is not just about teaching but about having a creative and innovative approach that truly nurtures students. The Ideal Candidate should have perfect oral expression and excellent presentation skills. We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and can work efficiently even in the absence of direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching all areas of the curriculum
- motivate and stimulate a child's learning abilities, encourage learning through experience
- Set clear and appropriate lesson objectives for all groups of children
- Assist with the development of children's personal, social, language skills and physical coordination abilities
- Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
- ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the classroom
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use both in learning activities and in imaginative play
- Supervising playground activities, lunch and nap times
- Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order
Requirements
- A minimum of four (4) years teaching experience as a nursery teacher in an international school
- Training in Jolly Phonics
- A university degree or relevant certificate in early childhood development or preschool teaching
- A lively, fun and bubbly personality
- The ability to adapt teaching methods and content to suit the needs and learning styles of each individual student.
- Excellent class management skills
- Computer literate
- Outstanding planning, organization and time-management skills.
- Demonstrating commitment to the development of pupils and being professional
- Demonstrating emotional intelligence by fostering empathy and creating a positive environment.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development: staying up-to-date to new methods
