The QA Engineer is responsible for testing software changes and ensuring the highest levels of quality before software changes are deployed for use in the production environment.

Duties and responsibilities

The QA Engineer will be required to:

• Review / understand the functional requirements and develop automation scripts to expedite functional / regression testing process.
• Prepare Test Data and Files: Generating specific test data and files needed for test execution.
• API Testing: Develop and execute API tests using Postman to ensure backend functionality aligns with specifications.
• Execution of automation scripts to validate APIs and web-based applications.
• Execute Regression Scripts: Running regression tests to ensure new changes do not impact existing functionality.
• Defect Management: Raising, tracking, and retesting defects found during testing using JIRA.
• Batch Execution Management: Setting up and executing batches of automated tests, reviewing batch execution results and identifying failures.
• Review automation results, identify failure reasons and raise defects for failures
• Enhance Existing Scripts: Updating and optimizing existing automation scripts for better performance and coverage.
• Automate Functional Stories: Translating functional requirements and stories into automated test cases.
• Should be able to perform manual (functional / regression) testing as needed.
• Meet commitments, be dependable, work independently, accept accountability, handle changes efficiently, set personal standards, and stay focused under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 3+ years' work experience in API testing.
• Strong Development Experience
  • Web / API automation – Cypress or Selenium or Equivalent
  • API testing – Postman or ReadyAPI or Equivalent
  • Desktop application automation – TestComplete or UFT or Equivalent
• Experience in creating, modifying and enhancing test data for automation scripts and in batches.
• Ability to debug and modify code written by other developers.
• The ability to Develop Integrated test suites where output from one set of scripts will become input to the next set and run the same in a batch mode.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in other programming languages like Java or Python will be a plus.
• Experience using source code repositories such as GitHub or BitBucket.
• Experience in API performance testing using JMeter.
• Work experience in Banking or Consumer Finance Domain will be a plus
• Experience working with offshore team will be a plus.
