The Position

Data & Analytics Product Owner/Data & Analytics Expert

We are the Data & Analytics Chapter, part of Informatics at Roche. We build excellence and mastery in next generation data and analytics capabilities, including but not limited to Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics and Data Management & Governance. We increase value from data - all the way from Discovery to Insights.

In addition to partnering with teams across the business to develop solutions, scale and automate data driven solutions, Data & Analytics Chapter members are uniquely placed to connect the dots across initiatives, promote information sharing across domains and recommend re-use of data, analytics and solutions wherever possible.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Data & Analytics Product Owner who will join us in Informatics for a journey to drive transformation with data and foster automated and efficient decision-making throughout the organization.

The Data and Analytics IT Product Owner must be a strategic problem solver who understands the organizational value of data, with a strong focus on delivering impactful results, integrating insights, and prioritizing initiatives that emphasize reusability.

In this role, you will serve as the squad lead, taking full ownership of product delivery. You will establish and coordinate cross-functional teams, focusing on the product's lifecycle management.

You will engage in multiple facets of Analytics Solution Development, Data Management, Governance, and Information Architecture, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data and analytics needs and develop a product roadmap that aligns with business goals.

  • Define and prioritize product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for data and analytics products and ensure what was agreed gets delivered.

  • Work with data engineers and data scientists to develop data pipelines, analytical models, and visualizations that meet business requirements.

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Teams and software developers to ensure that data and analytics products are coordinated into existing systems and platforms in a sustainable way that still meets the needs of businesses to generate the insights vital to drive their decisions.

  • Supervise data and analytics product performance and find opportunities for improvement.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies related to data and analytics in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for data and analytics products and guide business stakeholders on how to effectively use these products.

  • Accountable to Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and user guides for data and analytics products.

Who you are:

  • You are a technology enthusiast who loves to dive deep into the latest advancements and innovations. Additionally, you possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to encourage and guide diverse teams toward achieving their goals.
  • Proven experience as a product owner, product manager, or similar role in a pharmaceutical or healthcare organization or 5+ years of experience in any data streams (data science, data engineering, data governance etc.)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent.
  • High-level understanding of data engineering, data science, data governance and analytics concepts and technologies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and software developers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (knowledge of SaFe is a plus)
  • Experience in Snowflake, NLP & Nexthink would be considered a plus
