AirX Jet Support Malta is looking for an On Board Aircraft Engineer reporting directly to the Line Maintenance Manager.

Role

For all intents and purposes, the On Board Aircraft Engineer will be considered part of the Operating Crew. During flight duty, from the time of reporting on the aircraft until the Pilot in Command (PIC) leaves the aircraft after the flight, the On Board Aircraft Engineer must follow all reasonable instructions given by the PIC.

Effective communication and cooperation between Operating Crew Members are essential to achieve optimal results.

The On Board Aircraft Engineer must brief the PIC on any maintenance actions intended to be performed during ground time and before the aircraft's departure.

Additionally, the PIC's permission must be obtained before performing any maintenance action involving aircraft controls or systems activation, once the aircraft has been released for flight and the ATL has been signed by the On Board Aircraft Engineer.

Main Duties

  • Monitor aircraft systems operation, particularly of the Engines and other critical flight systems’ parameters and for any observed irregularity to inform/advise the PIC.
  • Always to contact MCC, as soon as a Defect is observed or raised and to inform accordingly.
  • Diagnose, Troubleshoot and Rectify or Defer problems as they arise.
  • Control of all maintenance related aspects of the aircraft, inclusive of good aircraft husbandry.
  • Execute Maintenance Actions in conjunction with MCC instructions.
  • Access the Company’s Intranet and IQSMS as may be necessary to read and download documentation necessary for ongoing Training and Operation.
  • Review Aircraft Technical Log (ATL) Deferred Defect Records (DDR) Cabin Defect Log (CDL) in order to arrange and plan future rectification actions in conjunction with MCC guidelines.
  • Ensure all maintenance paperwork is sent to the MCC on a daily basis, sending such documentation as a copy of the TLP, DDR record and CDL records.
  • Carry out Pre-flight, Daily and Weekly checks and signs the respective ATL section.
  • Control of all aircraft Fly Away Kit and Tooling on board.

Skills and Requirements

  • Must hold an EASA Part 66, B1 and / or B2 license.
  • Must have a valid Boeing 737NG rating.
  • Experience on BBJ aircraft is considered as an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent knowledge of Aircraft Systems and comprehensive knowledge of Aircraft Manuals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical writing and a willingness to attend MRO’s whilst an aircraft on Base Maintenance Check.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • High awareness of safety and procedures.
  • Current on EWIS, Human Factors and Fuel Tank Safety.
  • Valid continuation training.
