Transport Networks Optimisation Manager

Anticipated Contract Length/End Date: July 1st, 2024 - June 30th, 2025

Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking an experienced Transport Network Planning and Optimisation Manager who specialises in 4G and 5G Mobile Backhaul environments. The ideal candidate must possess expertise in various vendor-specific transport OSS, with a strong ability to interpret microwave radio configurations, manage related alarms and optimise IP-MPLS configurations. Additionally, proficiency in IP dynamic routing protocols, QoS configuration in microwave radios and routers, TWAMP counters and big data processing is essential. This role leverages in-depth industry knowledge of the business environment and various technical solutions to assist the customer in improving their network performance by increasing operational efficiencies within their network. The Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and optimised network performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important for this position.

Requirements

• MSc. degree in Technology, preference in Telecommunication or Electronical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in E2E transport network optimisation, preferably in a 4G/5G mobile backhaul environment.
• Advanced level expertise in LTE & 5G optimisation.
• Proficiency in using vendor-specific Transport OSS tools.
• Strong understanding of microwave radio configurations and related alarms.
• Experience with IP-MPLS configuration and optimisation from different equipment vendors.
• Knowledge of IP dynamic routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) and QoS configuration.
• Familiarity with TWAMP counters and interpretation of results.
• Experience in processing and analysing big data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
• High degree of expertise in LTE and 5G Mobile Backhaul Technologies.
• Solid understanding of Transport Network design, configuration, planning and optimisation processes.
• Definition and deep-analysis capabilities of Transport Network KPIs.
• E2E optimisation and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve systematic network anomalies.
• Solid plan establishment for site – cluster – network level optimisation.
• Hands-on experience with Transport Network OSS and Management Systems.
