We have an exciting career opportunity for a Risk Consultant in our High-Net-Worth team to complete desk-based appraisals. As a successful candidate, you will become part of a team of risk management professionals servicing Aviva Canada’s High Net Worth Insurance customers across Canada.

This role is home-based and flexible, there may be limited occasional travel to client premises within the Ontario region and on occasions nationally.

What you'll do

  • Deliver desk review reports which include risk identification and replacement cost calculations.
  • Produce underwriting and client reports while ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Assist in technical enhancement of submission material used by ARMS to support field risk consultants.
  • QA/QC reports provided to underwriting.
  • Provide technical capacity for data analysis and related outputs.
  • Manage, triage, and respond to enquiries from our internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist with workflow to improve operational efficiency of HNW team.
  • Maintain regular reporting on deliverables to underwriting.
  • Facilitate and participate in national and regionally related meetings, as needed.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the department’s plans for longer term strategic adaptation.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in Residential Insurance Risk Management
  • Self-starter who can work independently and is passionate about delivering to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Insurance management diploma or degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • CIP/CRM, either completed or in progress is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to navigate a variety of IT systems.
  • Competency in the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Efficiency in producing reports from various data platforms.
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal/external relationships, communicate optimally.
  • Analytical skills- ability to identify and mitigate adverse trends.
  • Valid driver’s license (some travel may be required).
