Strategic Purchaser

Based in Eindhoven, you will have a large interface in an international organization and become part of the spare parts procurement team. You will help continue our growth journey to improve service to our customers, and be responsible for executing strategic and tactical procurement activities for our Global Distribution Center in Eindhoven, NL and Regional Distribution Center in Buford, US.

The supply base of these locations will be managed in collaboration with procurement teams across Marel. You will represent spare parts and lead supplier negotiations and business review meetings with suppliers and other procurement teams. Beside managing external suppliers, you will collaborate with Marel manufacturing sites to improve processes and performance. On a day to day, you will collaborate closely with the Order Fulfillment Teams that handles operational procurement.

As a Strategic Purchaser you will:

• Implement and execute global procurement strategies to ensure that supplier performance enables excellent service to (internal) customers
• Formulate contractual agreements with suppliers in line with spare parts requirements
• Develop trading strategies on the basis of total cost of ownership to optimize lead time, order quantities, stock positions, pricing
• Execute risk management process to mitigate impact of shortages on daily operations
• Consolidate the supply base in collaboration with innovation teams to increase efficiency of managing suppliers
• Develop strong relationships with our key suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ensure continuous improvement of processes and data in close cooperation with operational teams

What kind of a person are you?

You have a relevant education with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with strategic procurement. You are a team player with a great drive, who creates valuable relationships both internally and externally, and you are passionate about making a difference together with your colleagues. In addition, we expect that:

• You will identify new potential strategic suppliers, ensuring a flexible supplier base with the best quality and prices.
• You have a structured approach to the tasks and persistent on meeting deadlines
• You are analytical and can collect, interpret and integrate information and knowledge to ensure that analyses and plans are carried out on the right basis.
• You are visionary, proactive and result-oriented.
• You master English at negotiation level in both writing and verbal.
