This role is based in Stockholm and has primary support for the sales manager in location and ad-hoc support to the rest of the EMEA team.

The Sales Associate will support the EMEA Sales Team in achieving annual targets by focusing on business development.

A key responsibility for this role includes producing the weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting that is required.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Targeting new business from Pensions, Insurance, Corporate/ Baking, OCIO/ Fiduciary Management, Traditional Asset Management and Alternative Asset Management sectors.
  • Maintaining up to date market research of target markets/sectors.
  • Supporting the RFP (Request for Proposal) and sales teams to gather accurate information from the business and reviews RFP responses to ensure it is customised to prospects needs.
  • Supporting the preparation of commercials and following fee review process.
  • Liaising with other SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) across Northern Trust to support RFP responses, gather FTE requests and work with Deal Manager to prepare for due diligence preparation
  • Maintaining up to date market research of target markets/sectors and research new markets/sectors of interest to Northern Trust.
  • Researching prospect profile and work alongside sales managers on key deals to build value propositions specific to each prospect.
  • Managing and preparing the fee model/proposals for EMEA sales and ensure that all required supporting documentation is in place and regularly checked for updates.
  • Ensuring that the fee review process is strictly adhered to.
  • Supporting and coordinating all aspects relating to sales presentations such as presentation booklets, supporting sales collateral, agendas, etc.
  • Supporting the Deal Manager for due diligence preparation.
  • Maintaining up-to-date client data within CRM databases, keep accurate records, support call report completion/filing and run periodic reports as required.
  • Producing sales reports on a regular and ad hoc basis as required by senior management. Collaborating with the US Sales Team on global reporting and initiatives.
  • Analysing prospect data to assist sales team focus on target markets/prospects, differentiators and product gaps.
  • Developing a working knowledge of the products that Northern Trust offer, attending product and training sessions.

The preferred candidate should have a fair amount of the following qualities:

  • Strong numerate and literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of financial products and services and basic sales concepts usually obtained through related work experience or formal education
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and intermediate skills in PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills: written, verbal and non-verbal to interact with stakeholders/clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong level of attention to detail and time management.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize daily workloads, working efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating customers fairly
  • Demonstration of initiative, accountability and focus on quality
