  • Migration Planning: Develop detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
  • Execution: Execute the migration of servers and applications to CentOS, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
  • Configuration Management: Configure and optimize CentOS systems for performance, security, and reliability.
  • Testing: Conduct thorough testing of systems pre- and post-migration to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the migration process.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of migration processes, configurations, and system changes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
  • Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for CentOS systems post-migration.
  • Training: Train and mentor team members and stakeholders on CentOS usage and best practices.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in migrating systems to CentOS or other Linux distributions.
    • Extensive experience with Linux system administration, particularly CentOS.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
    • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and storage configurations in a Linux environment.
    • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Certifications: Linux-related certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or similar are preferred.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Advanced Knowledge: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Project Management: Experience in project management and the ability to lead complex migration projects.
  • Automation: Strong background in automation and orchestration of tasks in a Linux environment.
