Communications Technology Group (CTG) is the HPE business unit providing vertical solutions to the Telco industry. With a catalogue of four solution families, CTG provides software, support and consulting capabilities to enable digital transformation and enable us to offer revenue generating, 5G-ready services.

Employee performing this job will be part of the CTG Business Finance team. Key responsibility will be the support of financial process and activities, from an end to end P&L and Balance Sheet standpoint, to support Business Partners with financial insights to allow them make a right decision.

What you’ll do:

This role is for Financial Analyst for Asia-Pacific & India CTG Business Finance and Opportunity Consultant. FA will partner with the Business leader and provide finance decission support, analysis, and reporting to the APAC-INDIA business leader, provide deal pricing support, manage JE's as needed including OPEX (Field Selling Cost) accruals and reporting for WW CTG.

As a Financial Analyst (70% of the time):

  • Responsible for Monthly Month End Close (MEC) Reconciliation and Coordination to ensure smooth operational effectiveness.
  • Ensures accurate revenue recognition for APAC & INDIA across Software, Support and Services. Processes JE’s and IC’s during MEC.
  • Provides timely and quality financial analysis for CTG APAC & INDIA and WW CTG FSC Finance Partners.
  • Performs analysis of actual Vs flash/forecast, Vs Budget and provides meaningful narratives, root causes for the variances.
  • Partners closely with the business stakeholders to provide meaningful inputs in the monthly forecast / flash.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis from time to time on services projects, reasons for forecast variances, works closely with Project Managers to understand the reasons.
  • Maintain strong business controls based on audit standards; actively review and manage the key controls within the domain of responsibility to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements (e.g., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Standards of Business Conduct (SBC), ASC 606, Accounting Financial Manual (AFM)
  • Collaborate closely with CTG Business Operations, Finance Account Management (FAM), Services Accounting (GSAO), and Order Processing Teams to understand the impact of related processes on financial results and to ensure accurate financial reporting & forecasting.
  • Partner with GRRO to enforce revenue accounting discipline.

As an Opportunity Consultant (30% of time):

  • Review deal structure & pricing for CTG opportunities
  • Evaluate opportunity assumptions against ASC 606, AFM policies and analyze cost structures to recommend pricing strategies
  • Provides timely finance opinion on deals encompassing revenue recognition guidance for SW, Support and Services. While doing so, reviews T&Cs of the contract, SOW & identifies non-standard T&C’s that require finance leadership approvals or that impacts Revenue Recognition. Completes & submits Revenue Recognition Checklist to GRRO.
  • Create CTG P&L that ensures AFM compliance from revenue recognition / cost recognition standpoint, for deal approvals and provide required documentation to the Solution Opportunity Approval Review (SOAR) process
  • Partner with Sales, Pursuit, delivery teams in deal shaping and complex price modelling for customers
  • Establish effective working relationships as a financial advisor to the CTG Presales/Sales/Account teams
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Tax, and Controllership, GRRO teams to address risks in solutions, propose mitigation, and complete required checklists (RRC).

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience:

  • First level university degree with a focus in business or economics recommended or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 6+ years of experience as a financial analyst.
  • May have experience in more than one finance function.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial analysis, with advanced knowledge in management P&L
