Operations Engineer

Join our dynamic team as an Operations Engineer in the Competitive Pricing Area of the FM&GT Tribe. This is an exciting role that offers technical and functional challenges within the Financial Markets domain. You will be a core member of a cross-functional squad, working on the ING Pricing Architecture Platform (IPA). IPA is a cutting-edge platform developed in-house to centralize pricing and risk calculations for ING's Financial Markets department.

The team:

You will be part of a global platform that is used in all ING Financial Markets locations. Our platform is developed and supported by multiple squads across different regions. As an Operations Engineer, you will work closely with business users and other squads, providing end-to-end support for various customer journeys. Our team is driven by a customer perspective and fosters a diverse and contemporary workplace.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Monitor, support, and run the IPA service, including multiple components.
• Manage incident management and perform root cause analysis for unavailability and data quality issues. You will directly communicate with users across different locations.
• Implement and utilize the latest tooling, with a strong focus on performance, stability, and security.
• Identify opportunities for automation, including testing existing features, performance, security, deployments, and monitoring.
• Ensure the implementation of IT risk and security controls, adhering to the ING Information Security Management Policy.
• Facilitate continuous deployment and delivery using Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with other Dev and Ops engineers to define, refine, and improve the technical architecture of the application.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating with Ops engineers to release new sprint versions regularly.

• 5+ years of Operations engineer experience.
• IT Operations/Support experience, including functional support for end users in the Financial Markets domain.
• Familiarity with Market Data, Derived Market Data, and Credit products.
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, Python, Ansible, Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8), and Shell scripting.
• Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to identify and resolve root causes of incidents for an improved customer experience.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Good understanding of the ELK Stack and its interactions.
• Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, and JVM-based applications.
• Affinity with IT Risk & Security concepts.
• Strong team player who enjoys working in a multicultural environment.
• Proactive and attentive to the needs of others.
