ResMed is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Architect to support Global Data Platform (GDP). This remote role requires strong communication and writing skills, and the ability to take ownership of a problem space and work independently. In this role you will help implement and shape GDP’s cloud architecture and operational practices. You will help define and promote operational best practices as technical standards and reusable code. You will apply your communication skills, experience, and research skills, to determine appropriate solutions to practice and technology gaps. You will interface with adjacent organizations that provide platform services to establish and support use of these services within GDP. You will work closely with internal groups to support adoption of developed capabilities and practices.

As a Senior Cloud Operations Architect on ResMed’s Global Data Platform, your job will entail:

  • Maintaining and supporting Cloud Architecture systems, processes, and code
  • Creating POCs, writing RFCs, developing and maintaining reusable code, modules, and templates (GitHub repositories, GitHub Actions workflows, TypeScript actions, Python scripts, Terraform Modules)
  • Developing and documenting standards for GPD’s use of technologies including GitHub (Repository configuration, organization strategy, external integration strategy), AWS (multi-account strategy, IAM & secret management), Kubernetes
  • Supporting ongoing development and operational efforts to align GDP to external platform service provider best practices (GitHub, Kubernetes, DataDog)
  • Supporting the ongoing development of technical practices and automation for regulatory and quality compliance

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of related domain experience
  • 4+ years of experience with AWS
  • 3+ years of experience with at least one programming language and a level of proficiency with this language (Python or JavaScript/TypeScript preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience with GitHub (Specifically, experience developing and supporting GitHub Actions workflows for automation and application deployment)
  • 2+ years of experience with Terraform
  • 2+ experience building, operationalizing, and managing deployments of docker based services and workloads (ECS, EKS or any Kubernetes preferred)
  • Experience with observability tools like Datadog, NewRelic, etc.
  • Basic proficiency with shell scripting
  • Strong writing and communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with data system architecture and/or data operations
  • Experience working in healthcare or quality controlled / regulated environment
  • Experience with tools, frameworks, and languages including:
    • SQL, Snowflake, Liquibase, DBT, Dagster
    • EKS, ECS, Lambda, Serverless
    • Kafka

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

Subject to the absolute discretion of the company, this role may be eligible for an annual cash bonus payment based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is:

Total Base Pay Range

106,000.00 - 133,000.00 - 160,000.00 CAD Annual
