Genesys is seeking a talented Senior Product Owner - HR & Payroll Technologies to join our IT team!

This role focuses on enhancing the employee experience through our HR systems, focusing on the Workday HCM & Payroll platform. Since launching Workday last year, our goal has been continuously improving and expanding its features. You will work closely with other IT functions, HRIS, and wider business teams to design employee-friendly experiences that support business processes and compliance requirements.

You will partner with People Operations and other business leaders to meet evolving business requirements and lead system enhancement opportunities. This includes supporting requirements, design, configuration and testing of system solutions to improve the employee experience and operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Enhance Employee Experience: Continuously optimize and elevate how employees interact with Workday.
  • Domain Expertise: Act as a solution domain expert, product owner and technical support by understanding system implications, identifying gaps/opportunities and recommending system solutions for adoption and enhanced experience.
  • Design Workday Journeys: In partnership with HR, develop and implement Workday Journeys to guide employees through key milestones, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience.
  • Advocate Best Practices: Promote Workday platform opportunities and best practices across HR products.
  • Collaborate with Global Stakeholders: Understand and prioritize their needs to identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements using Workday.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Utilize Workday reporting tools to generate insights and analytics that drive decision-making, improve employee experience, and measure usability metrics.
  • Feature Release Analysis: Offer recommendations and analysis for biannual Workday feature releases.
  • Cross-functional Updates: Partner with HR systems team members on updates and enhancements.
  • Project Delivery: Collaborate and coordinate with other IT teams and HRIS to deliver projects on time, following the SDLC process, without compromising the quality.
  • Compliance: Ensure that the ITGC process is followed in both development and support activities.
  • Ongoing Research: Stay updated with system and market changes via Workday Community and competitors.

What You'll Bring:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degrees or certifications in HR technology or product management are a plus.
  • 5+ years of configuring Workday HCM with demonstrated functional and technical expertise; 3+ years of supporting related Workday products such as Core, Learning, Recruiting, Benefits, Prism, Journeys, or Talent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate needs to and from stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of user-centred design principles and how to apply them to improve the employee experience within Workday.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, HR professionals, and stakeholders in the HR industry.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align product strategy with overall company goals, employee needs, and objectives, coupled with sound knowledge of project management processes and concepts.
  • Ability to solve highly complex problems by working with cross-functional teams from IT and business across regions.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes and manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on critical tasks independently and as a member of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Workday Pro certifications in relevant tracks.
  • Integration Expertise: In-depth understanding of different integration mechanisms and custom tools leveraging Workday APIs.
  • Data Analytics: Proficiency in using Workday's data analytics and reporting tools to generate actionable insights and measure usability metrics.
