DevOps Engineer - DataLake Platform

ING Tech Netherlands is building a state-of-the-art Data Lake. An ambitious project based on technologies like IBM InfoSphere, Oracle Exadata and Cognos and public cloud in the near future As a DevOps engineer you will be working in a platform team of 6-8 people consisting of engineers and squad master. The main goal of the team is to keep the platform running with all applications and your part would be to monitor , prevent and resolve issues in the platform by using available alerting and dashboarding tools.

The Team:

Within ING our engineers work in multi-disciplinary teams based on the Agile methodology and DevOps principles. ING adopted the ‘Spotify’ model, which means that you are part of a matrix organization. You work in your squad but are also part of a chapter, an expertise-focused group that shares knowledge and creates and governs standards. Your chapter will be ‘Data Platform’.

Qualifications

• You recognize yourself in following profile.
• Together with a minimum of 4 years of experience as a DevOps engineer in similar environments, we expect you to have had experience working with the following tools, techniques and way of working:

Required

• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana and ELK in creating dashboards and to write scripts (bash/shell).
• Have experience with Linux, Citrix, Oracle (Exadata) and Middleware like IBM Infosphere
• Have experience with Cloud platforms and architecture like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
• Have strong problem-solving skills to structure and improve complex situations.
• Have an automation mindset to reduce effort and increase quality of deliverables
• Have knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery tools like: Azure DevOps, GIT and Ansible.

Preferred

• Affinity with Data warehousing / Business Intelligence/ Data Lake and know to write SQL
• Programming Languages like Python, Java
• Be experienced in Agile and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Be a strong team player and have good social and communication skills
• Be able to work under pressure and willing to be on stand-by outside office hours.
• Have experience with working in multicultural /diverse teams.
• Have an excellent written and spoken knowledge of English.
• Passionate about new technologies
