Global Medical Partnerships & Grants is the enterprise-wide program that enables independent grant support and partnerships, for and with academia, societies, NGOs, payers and other healthcare stakeholders to advance medical and scientific knowledge, close data, knowledge, practice, or performance gaps and/or impact change in the healthcare ecosystem. The ultimate goal of the program is to improve the quality of patient care in a measurable capacity; GMG staff is responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of Pfizer’s support of independent and collaborative research, quality improvement and education for HCPs, including but not limited to, continuing medical education/continuing education (CME/CE), both accredited and non-accredited.

The Director/ITEM Grant Officer (GO) Secondment is responsible for the development and execution of initiatives that support the Institute of Translational Equitable Medicine (ITEM) strategy. The Director/ITEM GO role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support healthcare marketplace research, capacity building and learning & change initiatives, across targeted regions : focus on, underserved populations in the US, Low Middle Income Countries (LMIC) and Africa continent. T With a a strong alignment with Pfizer business interests, that decrease or eliminate health disparities, improve patient health, clinical performance and enhance competencies of HCPs while building the capabilities of the healthcare system to plan for and manage change. The Director/ITEM GO leads engagement with partners to achieve impact

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement prioritized Research, Development and Clinical Care initiatives focused on Health Equity in support of ITEMs strategic framework
    • Director/ITEM GO defines and documents the needs, research and practice gaps based on independent, external data and leads the development of mutually aligned clinical area, and regional health equity goals.
    • Translates clinical strategies for appropriate implementation at the global and regional level (based on regional/country/local gaps)
    • Facilitates the development of targeted strategies that leads to specific and general RFPs, coordinating development and posting of RFPs, serves as liaison between the Expert Review Committee (ERP) (as required) and the grantees.
  • Serve as liaison with partners, collaborators and grantees, facilitating feedback calls, ongoing dialog regarding project status including barriers and delays
  • Work closely with other GO colleagues; manages cross-BU/Research&Development/Corporate Affairs (CA) Health Equity strategies
  • Work hand-in-hand with global and regional Medical Affairs colleagues, R&D colleagues, DEI and Corporate Affairs/Foundation
  • Development and implementation of an ITEM Communication and Engagement Plan, including but not limited to the following events/channels: Pfizer Health Equity Day, Advisory Boards, Health Equity Summit Series, social media posts, etc.
  • Represent Pfizer in relevant external communities with a focus on Health Equity
    • GO manages high-level strategic relationships with identified external partners and stakeholders, including GMPG/ITEM partner relationships/collaborations
  • GO analyzes interim and outcomes data to determine project/program impact.
  • Work with legal/compliance and WMS Operations re: CIA, Sunshine and other government/policy implications

QUALIFICATIONS

Indicate qualifications that are job related, consistent with business necessity and necessary for the performance of an essential function of this role including: education/licenses/certifications, relevant experience (where legally permissible), technical and/or other job-related skills.

Advanced degree required (minimum MS, MPH, MBA); terminal degree preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD) in public health, health equity, adult education, higher education, quality improvement or relevant area. 15+ years of experience in the healthcare arena, either directly or indirectly. Global experience required.

Strong communication skills; consulting skills; trusted advisor; healthcare education/quality improvement expertise; political savvy; problem solving; process management, budget management
