In the Pursuit Manager position, you will be responsible for guiding a thorough and collected pursuit process from positioning efforts through interview and award. This role will leverage established processes and procedures as well as formulate more efficient and progressive practices in direct support of the pursuit process for our utility services practice, focused on building our southern clientele. This position will augment existing resources in the West and East to handle overflow and to train for the role. Examples of pursuit-related activities include creation of qualifications, proposals and presentations as well as creating and utilizing templates, managing boilerplate files, creating new pursuit related content, extending existing contracts, improving efficiencies through the use database systems and processes of data capture, updating pursuit collateral, and several administrative functions for our utility business sector during a time of significant expansion and change.

The primary function of this position is to ensure the timely completion of all pursuit-related activities in support of business development and communication activities, both internal and external, focused on Southern client business development needs but supplementing our East Coast and West Coast practice as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in the go/no go process and will determine the availability of resources, outlining schedules for all pursuits within defined area of supervision.
  • Lead the creation of pursuits and work in coordination with identified leaders to address differentiators
  • Develop competitive analysis and create win strategies to better the firm’s chances of project award.
  • Contribute to activities or campaigns leading up to the pursuit such as targeted marketing campaigns or public relations campaigns.
  • Perform/assist with technical training of staff in relation to pursuits, setting the department up for success.
  • Accountable for consistently meeting or exceeding deadlines.
  • Develop and write proposal responses for customer RFPs and soliciting team members for scope specific content; proofread all written proposals and refine formatting
  • Track frequently used content for simplifying future pursuits and to share with other departments
  • Track RFP deliverable due dates, coordinate team meetings
  • Schedule RFP review and challenge sessions
  • Develop/Maintain/Coordinate with the team on a storage methodology and process for archiving RFPs
  • Submit questions and update customer RFP sites with final submissions and BAFOs
  • Track Proposals, Contract Requisition, Contract Change Requests and issue periodic status reports.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications or related field – or qualified relevant experience in lieu of a formal education
  • 4 - 8 years of industry related experience
  • Organization and effective time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Expert in pursuit-related activities: qualifications, proposal, presentation
  • Grasp of technical skills required for database management
  • Professional and proactive work ethic
  • Highly collaborative, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment, with constantly changing demands
  • Excellent written, oral and communication skills
  • Demonstrated graphic design capabilities
  • Persistent with the ability to problem solve and collaborate to finalize decisions in tight timelines and with sensitive topics
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and Adobe Creative Suite, including inDesign
  • Strong business acumen
  • Dedicated business professional with an excellent service approach to their work and professional demeanor at all times

$80,000 - $110,000 a year
