Cloud Network Engineer

Head of Platform Infrastructure

We are looking for a talented individual who can bridge the gap between traditional and cloud networking. You will ideally have experience managing network infrastructure in colocation and can navigate the transition from physical to virtual with ease.

You will join the Platform Infrastructure team as a Cloud Network Engineer. You will be confident with standard routing protocols such as BGP or OSPF, have a solid understanding of LACP, IGMP and be capable of managing our network connectivity footprint.

As a cloud network engineer, you will be the go to person for our connectivity to the Exchange, able to speak to clients, internal engineering teams and external vendors with ease.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Network monitoring and performance optimisation. Proactively monitor network performance, identify constraints and implement improvements to achieve optimal network efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and issue resolution. Triage and resolve network related incidents or outages to minimise downtime.
• Help to architect our network footprint and future connectivity solutions
• Work with our external clients to onboard onto the Bullish platform.
• Use your knowledge and experience to optimise the onboarding procedure and to manage the growing footprint of connectivity options.
• Manage our network footprint utilising IaC and configuration management tooling.
• Manage external third party vendors for our connectivity.

Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
• 5+ years of working experience as a Network Engineer in a high-frequency trading or financial services environment. Preference is for colocation connectivity experience.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and architectures, with a focus on low-latency networks and experience in configuring and troubleshooting network devices and firewalls.
• The ideal candidate will have expanded their expertise into cloud technologies, notably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools, packet capture technologies, timing protocols and latency optimisation.
• Familiarity with market data feeds, exchange connectivity, and trading platforms (e.g., FIX protocol) is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of network architecture and configuration of routers, firewalls and switches
• Proven network infrastructure experience within a live trading environment.
