We’re responsible for CommBank’s key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning.

You will be a part of an enthusiastic team that works on Treasury Data Platform.

We are responsible for CommBank’s key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning. We work across the Teradata Group Data Warehouse and Ab Initio platforms.

We are seeking people who are:

• Have Industry experience and understanding of Balance sheet and Treasury Operations
• Have knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and regulations
• Understand regulatory reporting with focus on IRRBB, TP and Liquidity
• Is ready to execute state-of-the-art coding practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives and minimise risks
• Analyse and document business/functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools
• Passionate about building next generation data platforms across the bank
• Enthusiastic, be able to contribute and learn from wider engineering talent in the team
• Ready to execute state-of-the-art coding practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives and minimise risks
• Constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems
• Converts business needs into functional designs using knowledge of system capabilities, rules and architecture
• Can lead and drive a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed

We are also interested in hearing from people who:

• Are confident in building group data products from scratch, by integrating large sets of data derived from hundreds of internal and external sources
• Can collaborate, co-create and contribute to existing practices in the team
• Have experience in building data pipelines and responsible for data governance
• Have a natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence a large stakeholder group

Tech skills

• We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team
• Experience in handling large volumes of data
• Experience in Writing complex queries in Oracle and MSSQL
• Experience in working in Agile teams, including working closely with internal business stakeholders
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• AbInitio experience / exposure is desirable
• Cloud, including AWS and Snowflake experience is desirable
• Hadoop / Teradata platform, using Spark and various ETL frameworks is desirable
• Experience in building Data pipelines
• Experience in working in an Agile Framework
