Requirements

The Role

We seek top-tier candidates to join us in a pivotal role where you will be at the heart of our mission. We are a small and intimate business, but we are growing! You will report to the Senior Product Manager and will work closely with our Engineering team members and the global Product team.

You'll be based in our Head Office in Melbourne CBD, right at the heart of our company. While there will be times when you need to be in the office, there is ample flexibility in working from home. We are open to you working a four-day week if this suits your lifestyle.

As a Product Designer, you'll be at the forefront of driving our product's success. You will weave together ideas and concepts into captivating visual and interactive experiences that captivate users, ensuring they're intuitive, efficient, and satisfying.

This isn't just any role—it's an end-to-end journey. From delving deep into user insights through meticulous research and exploration during product discovery to crafting designs and conducting user testing, your influence spans the entire product lifecycle.

But that's not all. This role requires a kaleidoscope of skills, including expertise in user-centered design, information architecture, and visual design. Armed with design thinking tools, you'll navigate complexities with ease while mastering communication, collaboration, and the art of deciphering both quantitative and qualitative data.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

In your role, you'll contribute to various stages of the product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery.

Product Discovery:

  • Spearheading user research initiatives to gain profound insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points.
  • Employing qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, surveys, and usability tests, to inform product decisions, with the flexibility to facilitate workshops as necessary.
  • Translating research findings into actionable insights and compelling narratives that fuel product innovation.

Product Delivery:

  • Collaborating seamlessly with engineers to implement designs, offering guidance and support throughout the development process.
  • Conducting user research and usability testing to collect feedback and validate design decisions, ensuring alignment with user needs.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in design and technology to enhance product delivery continually.

Your efforts will result in a range of tangible outputs, including:

  • User research plans (interviews, surveys, web searching) & synthesized learnings
  • Empathy maps
  • User journeys & user flows
  • UX wireframes
  • Prototypes
  • Personas
  • Style guides for developers
  • Usability testing
  • Usage analytics & customer feedback reports
  • Process mapping

Who Are You?

Your greatest strength is a strong user-centered mindset. This involves deeply understanding user needs, behaviours, and pain points to create intuitive and engaging products that provide an excellent user experience. You:

  • Bring extensive experience in the property industry, coupled with a deep understanding of its intricacies, needs, and challenges.
  • Have a proven track record in designing intuitive and engaging UI/UX experiences for web and mobile applications.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in popular design tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and more.
  • Possess a firm grasp of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Excel in communication and collaboration, fostering effective teamwork.
  • Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, readily adapting to evolving priorities.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Experience in SaaS (Software as a Service) industry
