The People Data Warehouse (PDW) team is a young team responsible for providing the analytics data platform for Grab’s internal tools. We make an impact by providing a data foundation to improve Grabber and organizational decision making. Our team is made up of a group of humble individuals who are in pursuit of engineering excellence and continuous self improvement with a strong focus on impact creation through agile collaboration with our stakeholders. Get to know the job:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Engineer to join our data team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining platform infrastructure along with data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our central repository. You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and security of the data as it is processed and stored. Working closely with data scientists and analysts, you will help them access and use the data for various projects and analyses.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

• Design and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our central repository.
• Build and maintain the cloud infrastructure for the data platform.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of the data as it is processed and stored.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to help them access and use the data for various projects and analyses.
• Tune and optimize data pipelines and storage systems for performance and scalability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and systems to ensure they are running smoothly.
• Write and maintain documentation for data pipelines and systems.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in the field of data engineering.

Requirements

The Must-Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or data science.
• 1-2 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Javascript and SQL.
• Experience with data storage technologies such as relational databases, NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with data warehousing systems such as Redshift.
• Familiarity with a cloud platform such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with web application architecture.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
