Duties and Responsibilities:
· Translate business requirements and user needs into innovative Salesforce solutions using modern tools and techniques to improve experiences
· Develop Apex (classes and triggers), Lightning Components, Aura and Visualforce to extend Salesforce to support business requirements,
· Application development, including basic Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, Lightning Web Components
· Adhere to Salesforce best practices, maintain code documentation, and write/maintain test classes for all custom development
· Assist with each release cycle to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code
· Testing (unit and systems) and debugging
· Striving towards coding best practices and data quality
· Contributing to technical documentation
· Supporting the Salesforce Administrator on occasion
· Solve problems through smart technology solutions, identify quick wins, delivery proof of concepts, prove value and deliver quickly to a high quality
· Assist in the implementation of agile working practices
· Assist in the integration of DevOps into the business through collaborative working with both development and operations teams
· Work with other teams across to ensure solutions are best in class, are realistic and delivered in an optimised and agile way.
· Develop well documented, reusable code which meets standards, is secure and reliable, fully tested and promotes continuous development, continuous integration and continuous deployment
· Keep knowledge up to date in a fast moving and evolving IT and Digital function
Analyse and troubleshoot live issues when required
Requirements
· 3+ years’ experience of Salesforce
· Knowledge of Lightning Components
· Experience of Visualforce and Apex
· Can configure Salesforce using the declarative model (Custom Object, Fields, Validation Rules, Workflow, Flow, Process Builder, Approval Processes)
· Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines
· Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies
· Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
· Experience with Web Service integration using SOAP and REST- based web services
· Competency in HTML, XML, Flex and SQL
· Contribution to open-source projects, or personal projects in a good state of development,
· Demonstrates continued personal/professional development
· Experience with the Force.com Data Loader
· Understanding of Salesforce deployments particularly using Force.com migration tool and Ant
· Working knowledge of source control and particularly GIT
· Understanding of Salesforce design patterns and best practice
· Experience taking requirements and developing designs to deliver them
Non-Technical Skills:
· Strong English communications both written and verbal skills to communicate at all levels, including technical and non-technical, internal and external stakeholders and partners of the business.
· Estimation skills
· Ability to manage own workload and priorities
· Status reporting, tracking of progress
· Familiarity or exposure to ITIL
Advantageous Skills/Technologies:
· Bachelor’s/Postgraduate degree, a professional qualification, or equivalent experience desirable
· At least App Builder certified (Dev I is preferable)
· Additional Salesforce certifications e.g. Certified Salesforce Administrator, Certified JavaScript Developer
· Familiarity with developing/integration to other cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services using Salesforce standard APIs
