Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + Bonus

Are you an experienced buyer with a keen eye for detail and a knack for negotiation? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Buyer to join an SME family run business, based in St Austell.

About the Role: As a Procurement Buyer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily company purchases for all resale items, managing stock and back-orders, and ensuring optimal pricing and supplier agreements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Placing orders with preferred suppliers and obtaining competitive quotes when necessary.
  • Conducting regular price checks and negotiations to secure the best terms.
  • Ensuring timely adherence to sales order delivery dates and maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Managing procurement mailboxes, responding to pricing queries, and approving supplier invoices.
  • Exploring new supply sources within the UK and internationally.
  • Handling all purchasing administrative tasks efficiently.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Supplier Performance Improvement: Enhance trading terms, negotiate discounts and rebates.
  • Gross Profit Improvement: Increase sales order GP by decreasing cost prices.
  • Stock Management: Ensure no stockouts for top products and lock in agreed prices for 6-12 months.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a buyer role, with strong negotiation skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Adaptable to new systems and a quick learner.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and assist beyond your role.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
