As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be part of our Health and Safety team in Athens and you'll play a crucial part in safeguarding a safe workplace, fostering a culture of attention to health and safety. In Qualco Environment, Health & Safety are top priorities for our people. We implement high standard practices, deploying ISO 14000 and ISO 45000 to ensure compliance with H&S and Environmental issues while we are investing heavily in our people’s wellbeing.

A Day in the Life of a Health and Safety Manager at Qualco will include:

• Ensure the compliance with safety legislation and standards;
• Conduct safety audits in all premises in Athens (3 buildings in Marousi, 1 building in the center of Athens), 1building in Crete;
• Lead the establishment of the annual plan of Environment, Health& Safety and Wellbeing Initiatives in order to ensure high level wellness conditions for All employees of the company;
• Control the preparation of all procedures in order to comply with all applicable legal Framework regarding Environment, Health& Safety regulations and ISO 45001 standard;
• Prepare the annual Training plan on Environment, Health& Safety topics for all the employees of the company;
• Prepare the content and coordinate the collaborations regarding the training programs;
• Control the investigation and timely escalation of accidents and incidents, work-related physical and mental illness. in line with relative procedures;
• Monitor the areas of health, safety and wellbeing performance in line with Group’s integrated management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 20001) and taking into consideration incidents or findings of internal audit reviews to introduce effective remediation actions;
• Prepare and monitor the annual budget of Health and Safety;
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in environmental or chemical-mechanical engineering;
• Post graduate studies in environmental management will be considered as a plus;
• 5 -8 years of experience in Environment, Health& Safety in an office environment;
• Advanced MS Office skills;
• Excellent communication skills, ability to make presentations and outstanding verbal communication skills;
• People management skills;
• Professional English both spoken and written.
