The Role:

• You will be the Data Scientist of our project, Gen AI. This project that is part of the VW AI strategy that aims to introduce it in our daily processes. The goal is to work together with some different business partners, in order to identify the best use cases where to implement AI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help to define ML strategy, leveraging state-of-the-art Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Gen AI to address the business problems.
• Integrate data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and updating as needed
• Modeling & analysis: Understands pros/cons of wide variety of ML techniques (classification, regression, clustering, time series analysis, natural language processing, etc.) and algorithms (linear/logistic regression, gradient boosting, agglomerative clustering, deep neural networks, Transformer networks, etc.) to select the most appropriate solution. Applies standard modeling techniques (cross-validation, regularization, ensembling, etc.) as appropriate to ensure high-quality, reproducible results. Conducts well-designed experiments, performs statistically sound analyses.
• Work collaboratively with various IC, including, Data Engineering, Product and stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Ideally having 7+ years of experience as a data scientist and 9+ years of any software engineering experience (including data scientist).
• Proven track record of designing and building statistical and machine learning models to solve complex problems
• Proficiency in SQL and Python – including Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other standard data science libraries
• Experience with cloud systems such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight) is a plus
• Proficiency in English (German is a plus)
