Structure and Surface Material Expert

Huawei Finland Research Center is looking for an expert working on the structure and surface material technology and application.

Responsibilities

• Identify, collect the key challenges and requirements from HQ in areas of structure materials, surface materials in usage by Consumer Business Group, for example mobile phones, headsets, wearables etc.
• Do technical scouting in areas of the structure and surface material development in Europe, build up material technology map in Europe
• Identify the opportunities and give solution proposals for solving the key challenges based on partners in Europe and also globally
• Build up PoC and collaboration projects in identified material technology direction
• Track the academic frontiers and research trends of material technology in Europe, and help Huawei maintain long-term and good cooperation relationships with universities.
• be responsible for closely collaborating with headquarter R&D team by regularly reporting to the shareholders, including progress of technical scouting, material studies, PoC and collaboration projects.

Requirements

• Studied in either material science, mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, or related fields.
• Required to have Ph.D or at least Master degree.
• Expertise in material development for application, for example Ti alloy / Aluminum alloy / Stainless steel surface hardening treatment for better wear durability, composite material for having stronger mechanical strength and better surface wear durability, luxury material application etc.
• Skillful in material validation and be capable of handling the material testing, for example, hardness measurement, material analysis and mechanical tests etc.
• Knowledge of metal and/or non-metallic materials, their property, behavior and application windows
• Fluent in written and spoken English as working language. Good communication skills and multi-cultural environment adaptability.
