An exciting opportunity to join the UK Sales team and work on some of the biggest author brands in the UK across a wide range of retailers. You will work across children’s and adult publishing across all of Pan Macmillan’s imprints.

Your team:
You will work within the UK Sales London based team to work on some of the biggest author brands in the UK with UK retailers. You will work across all of Pan Macmillan’s imprints across Children’s and Adult publishing.

Your role:
As a Key Account Manager, you will manage a number of key retailers across the breadth of the Special Sales market including value retail, gift, subscription boxes and specialist retailers. You will also support on some of the biggest accounts in the UK market.

This role requires a high attention to detail, drive and lots of enthusiasm to make and seal a deal!

Your key responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Head of Special Sales to agree retailer strategy and growth plans,

  • Preparing and delivering presentations

  • Creating bespoke publishing specific to key customer’s needs.

  • Reporting on and analysing sales and accurate management and recording of deals

  • Finding new business and opportunities for growth.

Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience working for a publisher in Special Sales or Non-traditional Sales

  • Proven experience managing medium sized retail accounts

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

  • Experience of managing complicated processes and spreadsheets

  • Strong Excel skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Sales analysis skills

  • A stronger presenter with ability to showcase a broad list of titles

  • Numeracy and negotiation skills

  • A self-starter with the ability to find and deliver new business

  • Understanding of the UK Special Sales market.

Desirable skills we’d love you to have:

  • Broad knowledge of the UK book market across Children’s and Adults

  • Some experience in custom publishing

  • A passion for reading

  • Have used or are familiar with Google for Work (Gmail/Google applications).

This is a full time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
