The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, management, and performance of the product continuum within MBC product portfolio. This role requires a deep understanding of the cabinet industry, customer needs, market trends, supply chain and profit movers. The Product Manager will work cross-functionally to ensure the successful launch and lifecycle management of products that meet market demands and drive company profitability. This is a central role that connects various functions within MBC to drive product success. As the hub, the product manager is the central point that links spokes (different departments and teams) together, ensuring coordination and alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development and Management:
    • Lead the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with market needs and business objectives.
    • Develop detailed product specifications, requirements, and roadmaps.
    • Manage the entire product lifecycle, including updates, enhancements, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Market Analysis and Strategy:
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
    • Develop and implement product strategies that align with company goals and market demands.
    • Analyze and report on product performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize the product portfolio.
  • Voice of the Customer (VoC):
    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and improvements.
    • Act as the customer advocate within the organization, ensuring products meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Financial Performance:
    • Develop pricing strategies that balance market competitiveness and profitability.
    • Monitor and manage product costs, margins, and financial performance.
    • Prepare and present financial analyses and reports on product performance.
  • Promotion and Sales Support:
    • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute promotional strategies and campaigns.
    • Provide sales teams with product training, sales tools, and support materials.
    • Participate in customer visits, trade shows, and industry events to promote products and gather market intelligence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and other departments to ensure successful product development and delivery.
    • Facilitate effective communication and coordination across teams to achieve product goals.
    • Resolve issues and remove obstacles to ensure product success.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the building products industry with a marketing and/or sales background.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Possess or obtain intimate knowledge of industry products, services, distribution, customers & competitors.
  • Background or experience with lean tools is recommended.Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, influencing and motivating others towards a common goal.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey product vision, strategy, and updates to all stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles preferred.
