Senior QA Automation Engineer

For our partner - a leader in the audio entertainment industry with 150+ million users, we are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer.

We have an established team at AscentCore working on next-gen features for the infotainment sector of our partner’s business, connecting users to numerous features that make driving a more pleasurable experience through the awesome content shared by the company: music, news and podcast streaming, among others.

You will be part of a team that develops tools and tests and you will help analyze and understand requirements needed to define test cases in our partner's automation framework.

The automation work is carried out in Ruby programming & scripting language, alongside our partner's proprietary tools and test cases are written in Gherkin BDD format.

This role is open in locations where we'd like to expand our local communities: Cluj-Napoca or Timisoara.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain test plans, cases, scenarios/scripts, in compliance with defined QA standards and methodologies;
• Design, create, execute & integrate automation tests;
• Conduct bug fixes for current tests;
• Develop new automated tests in BDD statements and implement/update the Ruby code behind them;
• Implement and maintain functions into the automation framework using API calls to retrieve or set test data used into BDD steps;
• Review manual test cases for the relevant application and provide feedback on suitability for automation to the project team;
• Support, maintain, and enhance all test case automation related activities during iterative development, system testing, and regression testing;
• Work closely with our partner's Product Team, UX Team and other relevant stakeholders to review requirements and get a better understanding of next steps;
• Establish and configure testing environments for executing test cases and scenarios;
• Participate in the development, deployment, and administration of QA process, tools, and supporting technologies.

Requirements

• Strong grasp of coding practices and QA automation practices;
• Strong experience with automation testing (preferably both UI and API);
• Experience with any of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Perl (Ruby representing a strong advantage);
• Experience with BDD testing represents a strong advantage;
• Experience working on automation tests for mobile environments represents a strong advantage;
• Experience with Git, or similar source control;
• Experience in Ticket Creation/Bug Tracking tools such as JIRA;
• Very good English and presentation skills.
