Your Role

The role of the Commodity Manager for electromechanics is vital in establishing a functional supply chain during development & industrialization phase for Munich Electrification products. In close collaboration with the Munich Electrification management team, you are handling all technical & quality related aspects of an exciting OEM customer project. Your main contributions are the execution of APQP activities for ME-Specific component suppliers and the fulfilment of higher quality and cost effectiveness solutions through DFM/DTC activities with the internal and externals teams. As a Commodity Manager, you are also in charge of auditing and developing ME suppliers for your specific commodities.

You are fully aware of all production and quality requirements and their impact in the supply chain. You are capable of understanding ME expectations to suppliers and you are able to judge and make the right supplier selection after the audits. Since we are a small team, you are working hands-on with the actual product. The Commodity Manager interacts, actively communicates, and seamlessly connects our internal departments of Hardware, Operations and Industrialization.

Your future tasks at a glance

  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for ME-Specific components in your specific commodity
  • Work with the HW team on DFM/DTC at an early stage of the project with the target to improve the quality and costs of the components.
  • Carry out supplier on-boarding and requalification audits based on VDA 6.3
  • Support the evaluation of customer requirements during the RFQ phase
  • Monitor and implement change management in the process.
  • Support the Operations team in the event of quality issues in the series production
  • Implement & validate quality and sustainability targets into the supply chain
  • Contribute to new business initiatives, supplier strategies in close collaboration with the Purchasing Organization

What you bring with you

  • Successfully completed university degree in an engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in automotive sector and detailed knowledge of the requirements
  • Proven experience in the area of electromechanical manufacturing
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following mechanical commodities: Injection molding, busbars, magnets, assemblies, metal parts, PCBs, etc.
  • Strong Project Management and Leadership skills.
  • Previous experience using the different Automotive Core Tools (MSA, SPC, Control Plan, FMEA, Process Flow, etc)
  • Highly motivated, willing to take responsibility and ownership
  • Preference for working in teams, confident personality and excellent communication skills (English)
  • Readiness to travel (~ once a month)
  • Ideally: IPC-A610 and VDA6.3 Certifications
